Samsung Mobile Phones

The leading supplier of home electrical equipment, Samsung Mobile has been on a rapid rise since the release of their first mobile phone. Initially strong in their home Asian market, Samsung grew to become the leading supplier of mobile phones in the US, and the second leading manufacturer world wide, behind the ever dominant Nokia.

Generally Samsung mobile phones are noted for their bright, colourful layout, with colourful, almost cartoon like menu icons accompanied by musical tones with every keypad press.

They also have a strong focus on the handset designs that are most popular with consumers, namely the fold, or clamshell design, and the slide phone. Many of the best Samsung phones in early releases into the European market were of the clamshell design, such as the A100 and A300. Due to the 'compact cuteness' of these phones, and other later releases like the E715 and E700, Samsung found themselves more popular initially with the female mobile phone consumer.

That continued with the handset that sold in its millions and firmly placed Samsung as a leading mobile phone manufacturer, particularly in the UK, the Samsung D500. This Samsung handset was small, compact, and easy to use and hit the market at just the right moment. Due to its fairly low sim free price, the D500 started to sell with the ever popular half price line rental deals that were starting to come to market, and the phone sold, big time.

Samsung Mobiles continued to release a huge number of handsets, some more popular than others, with handsets in every market sector, from low price, low cost C Series phones, the popular E and D series of clamshell and slide phones, and the release of the I series that were aimed at the smartphone market. Initially Samsung started with Windows Mobile handsets but were open minded enough to see that stronger sales are found with support for multiple platforms. As well as Windows Mobile devices, Samsung also have S60 phones and Android devices in their portfolio.

Samsung also produce a strong line up of handsets that have touchscreen functionality, quickly spotting the potential in the market for such devices, the most popular of the recent devices being the Samsung F480 Tocco. The Tocco line up was increased recently with the release of the Tocco Ultra, adding a hard slide out keypad to the phone, and the Samsung phones department have also been busy with the Smartphone market, where they are looking to strengthen the Omnia brand as a recognised name for all their Smartphones.
